Spring

When is it coming????

I am tired of this 65 degree weather followed by 40 degree weather.  It is doing a number on my allergies, and I am miserable.

Easter was awesome.  My wife got me the best gift a man could ask for.  Or at least, this man.  I got a book titled Firefighter.  In addition, she gave me a Jack Johnson CD, and a fireman Boyd's Bear.

I love all stuff fireman.  It is a good thing I love my job, and a good thing she loves me.

Well, better get back to work.  You never know when you will need to do something.

Busy Weekend

It was a busy weekend for our family.

It started Friday, as we were busy getting the house clean and food ready, because the rest of the weekend was planned out.

Saturday, we celebrated a wedding shower at my wife's aunt's house. Her house is the location of most of the family parties. We have a cousin who is getting married in the fall, and it has become tradition to have a couple's shower. It was a great time, and the food is always great at these parties.
We typically have a gift game, and this time, I came out okay.  I was able to land a deviled egg dish, and a small easter dish.  Unlike others, who got bungee cords, I am glad I got something that I could use.

Sunday, we celebrated my wife's grandmother. She just completed radiation treatments for cancer. We had about 20 people here, and again, the food was delicious. There is still some in our refrigerator.

We had a busy weekend, and today, we are taking it easy. Doing the final clean-up and dishes.

I love family get togethers since the company is awesome.  We also have a family full of cooks.

I know that I must have gained 5 pounds, but oh well.

Tomorrow it is back to work.

Longtime missing

Yeah, I know that I haven't been on here for a long time.

I am going to try and blog something each and every day.

This is going to be tough, since not a lot happens to me each and everyday. I am going to try and let each one of you find out what it is like to be me.

So, as I start this new challenge, why don't you come join me.

Rain

Rain. It is finally raining here. It has rained a little bit in the last week.

The fact that it is raining should make me happy, but it isn't today.

I got up, and I washed my car, and my wife's car. Cleaned the windows. And now, less than 6 hours later, it is raining.

On top of that, I have to walk my dogs. They hate the rain. I love it, but they hate it. Cheddar will physically fight me. Him on one end of the leash, me on the other, pulling him down the steps.

But in the end, I will be happy with my green lawn, and green flowers, at least the ones that hadn't already died in September from not getting any rain in August.

Time to get the umbrella.

I Did It!!!!

I finally did it. As you know I have been training to be a firefighter/paramedic. Along the way, there have been tests that I have had to successfully pass to continue on this road.

Well, the biggest obstacle was the National Registy of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic exam. This exam is two parts. The first part was the practical (skills) exam. This was a few weeks ago. I passed it without and problems (all of my classmates did too). The second part was a cognitive exam (computer based test). I took this awful test on Friday, September 7th.

Well, I received my results on their webpage today. I don't know what my score was, but I know that I passed. At least that is what was on the NREMT web page this morning.

There were five of us that took the test on Friday. Unfortunately, only 4 of us passed. We are going to work together to get our remaining brother through the test.

I am relieved that I have passed this difficult exam.

Happy Anniversary

My wife celebrated her 6th anniversary or new birthday, or if you want to say, just glad to be alive day yesterday. I was a dummy. I didn't get her anything, not even a card. I am always forgetful about those things. I shouldn't be. These days mean so much to her. From birthdays, to Valentine's, even Sweetest Day. She always gets me something. Typically, nothing big, but something small, something that she sees that makes her think of me.

I need to do the same. We all should.

The next time you are out shopping, and you see something that makes you think of that someone special, you know, your significant other, your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, or whatever, I challenge you to buy it for them. I am going to. I need to. It would make her so happy. And as I have always been told, a happy wife makes a happy house.

Long time away

Wow, what a long time it has been. So long, I didn't even know that Blogger had been updated. I haven't looked around that much to see if the improvements are a good thing or not.

Training is over, finally. I am on a shift, 2nd platoon to be exact. I like everyone I have met so far. But the biggest thing that I like is my time off. I work for 24 hours, and then I am off for 48 hours. What a schedule. I love it. We have been getting things in order around the house, and now that the swimming season is upon us, we are starting to spend time poolside. And since this is Saturday, and the sun is out, I am outta here for the time being to go flop.

Until next time, and it won't be 6 months either.
